On My Knitting Needles
First knitting photo:
For the first sock of 2018, Zigzagular, using Blue Moon Fiber Arts Socks that Rock, absinthe colorway.
Next up, Drop Stitch Shawl Version 2, Angelique den Brok-Molendik, designer, using Cascade 220, color #9424, found on deep stash dive.
Next, I knitted a bunch of spa cloths to give to friends for Christmas and included a bar of fancy soap with each. Huge hit!
No real pattern for these, I picked random stitch patterns from a stitch dictionary and stopped knitting when I thought they were big enough. I finally put the huge cone of off white Sugar and Cream to good use. I love it when a plan comes together, don’t you??
And last, but for sure not least, a leafy scarf for Cece, the grands other grandma and my sister of the heart. She loved it.
This yarn is from Yarn Outlaw and made in New Zealand. It was a Yarn Box selection and I’d waited forever it seemed before I found the perfect project and giftee for it. Here are the deets:
Yarn Outlaw Bohemia Sport
45% Polwarth
45% Alpaca
10% POSSUM!!!!!
Absinthe
Seriously, this is the softest yarn I’ve worked with in a long, long time and I just love the little tweak of possum. The best part? I still have four balls (732 yards) hanging out in my stash!
I hope everyone had as wonderful a holiday as we had here at Casa Coleman, with much food, much laughter, many many gifts and more love than you can shake a stick at. Merry and bright for sure.
Let us always meet each other with a smile, for the smile is the beginning of love. Mother Teresa
